Lola Florence, the brand, is something I’ve been working towards my whole life. Embracing the evolution of my artistry has been the key point of growth as an artist. My favorite part of jewelry making is problem-solving. Where imagination meets engineering, aka “Design.” It is a gift to feel inspired & to be able to express that for others to enjoy. Design is my love, my happiness, & my therapy all in one. Jewelry is the relationship of which I reflect inward & communicate to the special people around me, most commonly, my clients. I have the best clients. They are trend setters & wear jewelry because it speaks to them & is different from the rest. They know who they are & they are fierce!
I’ve been an artist for as long as my mother can remember. I began drawing at the age of 3, when I could first hold steady a crayon. I studied different mediums throughout my childhood & young adulthood. Actual jewelry-making didn’t begin until age 12. I still haven’t taken a jewelry course to this day, which I am grateful for. To self-teach & bring to fruition what’s inside me with no one's direction is probably the reason why my designs have been successful. Years of trial & error, constant experimenting, & perfecting my craft have led me to the ultimate outcome of some of my most adored collections.

I’m especially moved by couture fine jewelry & continue to be inspired by the big names – Bulgari, Van Cleef, Verdura, Cartier, Piranesi. I had the privilege of working for Dame Elizabeth Taylor & Kathy Ireland, which was an enormouse honor. The beautiful pieces I was in the presence of was astounding!
For many years I’ve had the privilege of working in the fine jewelry industry while simultaneously working on my own line. I've been so fortunate to be surrounded with the most exquisite jewelry at every oppurtunity. This has made me the person, artist, & designer I am today. I’m counting on all my past & current experiences to aid me in the on-going progression of Lola Florence Hawaii & I invite you to join me in this journey.
Aloha & Welcome. Jarriverai.

As an artist, when I begin making a jewelry piece, the process begins with an inspiration, followed by an intention for where I want that piece to end up. However, the “art” in this process always chooses for me, provided I am listening. When I allow my creativity to be guided by the materials themselves, the result is one of pure satisfaction. There is imagination & thoughtfulness involved in each & every piece. I've made a conscious decision to create only one of every piece. At times, limited materials are a factor, but more importantly, it is the desire to be inventive in this process & to make a unique piece of absolute quality. Handcrafted jewelry is a rarity & a way to re-humanize true & meaningful emotions. Emotions of love & happiness, something a true jewelry lover & collector understands to their very core. For a client to feel that energy infused in each Lola Florence piece is my only wish!
Kona is the backbone of my work. It is my first inspiration & it is what allows me to grow & evolve as an artist. As a resident of Kona for 17 years, the respect I have for the Big Island & for the precious culture here, brings me to a place of complete admiration. To know & understand what a great privilege it is to be here, to be in this magical place where so many cannot be. Kona’s beauty & Aloha remind me every day of my opportunity & obligation to contribute.
